How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home: 3 Easy Methods
by FIUNA
·
Ordering a ring online is easy once you know your size. In Europe, ring sizes follow a simple rule: the EU size is the inner circumference of the ring in millimetres. Size 54 means 54 mm around. Here are three ways to find yours.
Method 1: paper strip or thread
- Cut a strip of paper about 10 cm long and 5 mm wide, or use a piece of thread.
- Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you want to wear the ring on.
- Mark where the ends overlap.
- Lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres. That number is your EU size.
Make sure it slides over your knuckle: the ring has to pass that point.
Method 2: measure a ring you already own
Take a ring that fits the same finger well. Measure the inner diameter (inside edge to inside edge) in millimetres and multiply it by 3.14. The result is the circumference, which is your EU size.
Method 3: use the size chart
| EU size | Circumference | Inner diameter |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | 50 mm | 15.9 mm |
| 52 | 52 mm | 16.6 mm |
| 54 | 54 mm | 17.2 mm |
| 56 | 56 mm | 17.8 mm |
| 58 | 58 mm | 18.5 mm |
FIUNA rings come in sizes 52, 54 and 56. See our size guide for more.
Tips for an accurate result
- Measure at the end of the day when your fingers are warm. Fingers are smaller in the cold and in the morning.
- Measure two or three times.
- Wide bands sit tighter than thin ones. For a wide ring, consider going one size up.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
